California Railroad Museum, Sacramento

In brief for now:
We really enjoyed our visit to this museum. It has exhibits about all aspects of the evolution of the railroads including the building of the actual railroad and a huge snow plow that was used to get the project through mountains. Also shown are facts about the people who were involved from labourers to engineers and financial backers, as well as the development of dining cars with regional crockery and signature dishes, There are exhibits around freight and the ongoing changes in the development of advertising labels for the products carried, different full size engines and model railways.

We will add more to this post later when we have more time.
